Bellon was once a renowned hunter in the Hedgelands. A hunt led to his end, and a second chance as a Blood Knight. However, this second chance gave him the opportunity to witness the betrayal that led to his condition, making him to fall. Over the years, he strived to enact vengeance on the Blood Knight who recruited him, and who he blamed for his tragedy.
Biography
Bellon as a human
In his human life, Bellon lived in the Hedgelands with his wife Cathrien.[1] He lived in an estate owned by Edelard.[2] Bellon is implied to have been a skilled hunter, and would usually face beasts that threatened the town.[3] As such, the hedgefolk held him in high regard.[1]
At some point, Edelard gave Bellon a bounty[4] to exterminate a menace that had been killing livestock and terrorizing the commoners.[3] Unlike his usual quarry, these were not wolves, but humanoid creatures which reeked and had withered skin.[5] Before he left, Edelard also gifted him a protective sigil as a send-off. At the creatures' nest Bellon found the corpses of previous adventurers who had taken Edelard bounty. He was then assaulted by a horde of Ravenous Thralls and tried to use the sigils, which turned out to be fraudulent. Bellon was overwhelmed by the horde and fatally injured.[1]
No More Human
"I am Mariki. A blood knight. You were becoming one of them. I saved you."
- Bellon and Mariki, on the former awakening as a blood knight(src)
Mariki performs the ritual of induction on Bellon
A Blood Knight named Mariki arrived at this point. She slew the horde and performed the ritual of induction on Bellon before he became a thrall. Bellon awoke as a Blood Knight, confused and feeling a new hunger. Mariki explained his situation and conscripted him into her order. Bellon was averse to this, but the duo were attacked by another horde before they could come into conflict. After Bellon slew the horde on his own (which Mariki allowed in order for Bellon to get used to his new strength), he relented but requested to see his wife. Mariki agreed to his request, but ordered to do quickly.[1]
Abomination
- An anguished Bellon, just before succumbing to his curse(src)
Bellon kills Edelard
Bellon arrived home to find Edelard trying to proposition Cathrien. Bellon, enraged by the fraudulent sigils and Edelard's plan to sabotage him, tried to kill Edelard, but the latter used Cathrien to intercept the blow. Mariki intervened before Bellon could kill Edelard, and tried to leave with him. However Bellon anguished by the accidental murder of his wife succumbed to his curse and murdered Edelard. Mariki was forced to execute Bellon with the latter swearing vengeance with his dying breath.[1]
Somehow Bellon survived, and would spend the next century keeping a low profile and regaining strength.[1]

Bellon reveals himself after a feast arranged by his missionaries
Bellon created a cult to help him obtain blood. His fevered missionaries would travel far and lure victims with promises of upliftment and freedom from death. The victims would be gathered in a feast, during which Bellon would massacre and feed on them. Mariki had also been investigating the actions of the cult, and broke into a feast that had just closed. The Shard-seeker was the only survivor of the feast and they helped Mariki kill the other celebrants who arose as thralls. Mariki proposed to the Shard-seeker to destroy Bellon's keepsake stored in her chapterhouse, as the action would rip the curse away from Bellon and kill him.[1]
Bellon breaches the Thys chapterhouse
Bellon's keepsake could not be destroyed, and he sensed their attempt, using it to locate the Thys chapterhouse. Bellon easily killed the knights of the chapter, and held him off while the Shard-seeker took the keepsake to a cenotaph to be destroyed. Mariki was able to imprison Bellon until the Shard-seeker returned. The latter could not destroy the keepsake as it was protected by his intense desire for vengeance. The duo teamed up to battle him, and had the upper hand until Bellon called in his thralls as reinforcement.[1]
Bellon and Mariki's deaths
The condition of the chapter made Mariki feel deep sorrow and she regretted ever recruiting Bellon. Her intense emotions caused her to succumb to her vamprisim, and thus, fulfilling Bellon's vengeance. The two abominations battled, and Mariki's new form enabled her to gain the upper hand. While she held Bellon down, the Shard-seeker destroyed Bellon's keepsake in the nearby cenotaph. The backlash seemingly destroyed Mariki and Bellon with only the former's keepsake remaining.[1]
