Temis
Temis is the capital city of the Askari, located on the Skovos Isles.[1]
Lore
Temis is built on top of a mountain.[2] The bustling epicenter of the Isles, Temis is a city of marble walls, eerie elegance, vibrant patterns, and rich textures.[3]
History
During the Age of Hatred, the town square was filled with whispers concerning the Firstborn.[3] After the supposed return of Akarat to Sanctuary (in reality Mephisto in disguise), multiple ships sailed to Skovos carrying pilgrims following in "Akarat's" footsteps. Pilgrims poured into the city, which sparked resentment from some of the native Askari.[4] Around the same time, rats infested the city's canals, likely brought over by the ships in question.[5]
Queen Adreona acquiesced to a point in regards to the new arrivals. She allowed a procession to be held for "Akarat," but ordered Amazon Caste warriors to be stationed throughout the city, and ordered catchers to drive out the rats that had infested the city.[5]
Temis remained secure, even as the rest of Skovos crumbled.[6]
In-game
Temis appears as a town in Diablo IV, introduced in Lord of Hatred. It is designed to be an "endgame city," designed to streamline access to anything a player could want after completing the campaign.[3] War Plans are accessed through Temis[7] as is the Echoing Hatred activity (via the Sightless Eye). Once unlocked, the Horadric Cube is also found in Temis.[8] The Pale Hand mercenaries move here during the game, treating it as their new base of operations.

Points of Interest
- Corpses: Victims of the merfolk and other creatures that stormed the ship. Most of the fallen are pilgrims who had given everything for passage to Skovos.
- The line of corpses are found at the player's point of arrival on the deck of the The Salty Groom.
- Hateborn Abomination: Though dead, the creature's flesh pulses with unholy energy. A sense of vertigo overtakes you as you stare at the tattered flesh.
- The creature's corpse is found at the player's point of arrival on the deck of the The Salty Groom.
- Offerings: Each slip of paper bears a plea for help. One calls on the wrath of demons for swift justice; another beseeches the angels for their wisdom in a time of hardship.
- Site of Libation: The scent of cypress fills the air. Nearby, notes written in less than cautious hands list names and promises to the deceased. Sediment left from rich wines poured from those who can no longer partake.
- Spirit of the Virtues: The statue bears an inscription about the virtues all Askari live by: Life, Courage, Wisdom, and Unity.
- The Twin Sisters: An inscription on the statue reads: "The twin daughters of Philios gifted Skovos with two traditions: That of the Amazons, to protect our home, and that of the Oracles, to guide its growth."
