Mutilation Guard — diablo

Mutilation Guard is a Legendary Gem in Diablo III. It can only be socketed into Amulets and Rings, and drops from Greater Rift Guardians.

Properties:

Gain 10% melee damage reduction.
- Upgrade: +0.5% additional melee damage reduction per Rank.
- Max: 60% melee damage reduction at Rank 100.
While below 50% Life, you may move through enemies unhindered (Requires Rank 25)

Chau Thanh of Guozhi designed a gem which would transport the pain and suffering of a physical attack to an undisclosed location. When asked about the ultimate destination of this damage, she would simply smile and mutter "Well deserved. Well deserved."

Notes

It stacks with the respective stat of the character, but is subject to diminishing returns.
At rank 25, it also allows the character move freely through enemies and Waller-affix barriers while at 50% Life or lower. The effect is identical to that of Illusory Boots and Bottomless Potion of Kulle-Aid.
As damage reduction has a cap (and in addition stacks with the respective stat), this is one of the few gems that actually has a ranking limit, effectively becoming fully upgraded after reaching rank 100.
